One polymer, many processes
Polypropylene is light, stiff, chemically resistant and easy to process, which is why it turns up in woven sacks, packaging film, bottle caps, carpets, car bumpers and hot-water pipes. The right grade depends mostly on your process and its melt flow index (MFI).
Homopolymer gives stiffness and heat resistance. Random copolymer adds clarity and is the base for PP-R pipe. Impact (block) copolymer stays tough at low temperatures for crates, pails and automotive parts. Send us your current grade and we offer the same or an equivalent from Middle East producers.

Which grade for which use
| Grade | MFI (230 °C / 2.16 kg) | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Homopolymer, raffia | 2–4 g/10 min | Woven bags, big bags, tapes, ropes |
| Homopolymer, BOPP film | 2.5–3.5 g/10 min | Packaging film, labels, adhesive tapes |
| Homopolymer, injection | 10–35 g/10 min | Housewares, caps and closures, thin-wall packaging |
| Homopolymer, fibre | 12–35 g/10 min | Nonwovens, staple fibre, carpet yarn |
| Random copolymer | 0.3–30 g/10 min | PP-R pipes (≈0.3), clear containers, film |
| Impact (block) copolymer | 3–60 g/10 min | Automotive parts, crates, paint pails, appliances |
Typical values
| Property | Typical value (homopolymer) | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Melt flow index (230 °C / 2.16 kg) | 2–35 g/10 min by grade | ISO 1133 |
| Density | 0.900–0.910 g/cm³ | ISO 1183 |
| Tensile strength at yield | 31–36 MPa | ISO 527-2 |
| Flexural modulus | 1,300–1,700 MPa | ISO 178 |
| Notched Izod impact, 23 °C | 2–5 kJ/m² | ISO 180 |

Frequently asked questions
Which PP type do I need?
Raffia, film and fibre lines run homopolymer at low to medium MFI. Clear packaging and PP-R pipe use random copolymer. Parts that must survive impact or cold, such as crates and car parts, use impact copolymer.
Can you match the grade we use today?
Yes. Send us the producer and grade name from your current TDS. We offer the same grade or a close equivalent and send both data sheets so your team can compare.
Do you supply prime or off-grade material?
Prime grades only, in the producer's original bags with lot numbers and a certificate of analysis for every lot.
What is the minimum order?
One 40' high-cube container, usually 24.75 MT (990 bags of 25 kg) on pallets.
Is the material KKDİK registered?
Polymers themselves are exempt from registration under KKDİK, as under EU REACH, but the monomers must be covered. We confirm this with the producer before quoting into Türkiye.
What payment terms do you work with?
Letter of credit at sight, or 30% advance and 70% against copy of the bill of lading. Other terms are possible after a first successful order.
